No stage, no setlist

A circle, a drum, and a song nobody owns.

Why

Before music was a product it was a way that people stayed sane together. We want it back in that shape.

There is no stage here, no audience, no skill threshold. If you breathe you can sing. If you have hands you can keep a rhythm.

What happens

A rough shape of the day.

  1. 01Bring an instrument or play one of ours.
  2. 02Warm up with simple rhythm and call-and-response.
  3. 03Long open jams around the fire.
  4. 04Song circles, one person starts, the rest hold.
  5. 05Quiet between songs. Cups of tea. No rush.

Who it's for

If any of this is you.

  • Trained musicians needing space to play without a brief
  • People who haven't sung in front of anyone since school
  • Singer-songwriters wanting to be among other ears

Teach instrument collaboration at the valley.

We're quietly gathering practitioners to hold our circles. If this is your lineage, tell us how you teach and we'll be in touch.
